How many guests travel on a journey?
Golf safaris and safaris are for two to four guests. Family journeys are for families of four to six, up to three generations. Every flight is yours: nobody else boards.
Which aircraft will we fly in?
We match the aircraft to each leg. A jet for the long sectors, a turboprop for the bush, a helicopter where the strip runs out. Every pilot who flies an Ascot Private journey is a commercial pilot with experience of African bush strips, and they fly to the same safety standard whether the runway is tarmac or grass.
What does the from-price mean?
Prices are per person, based on four guests sharing, and include the private aircraft. The price covers all private flying within Africa, your accommodation, all meals, activities, guides and private vehicles, the pre-departure delivery to your door and the coffee table book of your journey afterwards. International flights to and from Africa are not included. Family journeys are priced on application, on how many of you are travelling and the children's ages.
How many journeys do you run a year?
We host no more than twenty-four parties a year, from a collection of thirty journeys. There is no waiting list: once a date is held for someone, it is theirs.
Do you work with travel advisors?
Yes. Every Ascot Private journey is open to registered travel advisors and concierge services, and every journey is commissionable to accredited advisors; Scott gives you the terms when you write. Your client stays your client.
Can we change the itinerary?
Yes. Treat every journey as a starting point. Your Journey Architect will change the pace, swap a lodge, add a round or take one out, as many times as you need. Revisions cost nothing, and nobody will push you to sign before you are happy.
When is the best time to travel?
July to October fills first for East Africa, and April to June and September to November for South Africa. If you already have dates in mind, the sooner we speak, the more choice you have.
How soon will you reply?
When you enquire, a person calls you back. We aim to call within twenty-four hours, and it is usually sooner. Your first proposal reaches you within seven days, with your dates, the routing, the aircraft for each leg, the lodges, the courses and the price.
