Ellerman House

Ellerman House is where we put guests who care about art and wine as much as the golf. It stands on the slope above Bantry Bay, on the Atlantic side of the mountain, with thirteen rooms and two villas. The house holds a serious collection of South African art, and the terrace faces west, so dinner comes with the sun going down into the sea.

With fifteen units in all, you share it with very few people. Couples on The Cape Circuit and Namibia Complete spend two nights here before heading inland or over the border. On The Skeleton Coast & Garden Route it is the base for a day at Pearl Valley in the Winelands, with a late lunch in the valley before the drive back.

For families we take a villa. Villa One and Villa Two each have three bedrooms, a private pool and a garden, with the Atlantic in view, so a family of up to six can have one to themselves. The Kalahari Family Expedition ends here after Tswalu. The Multi-Country Grand Tour opens in one of the villas.

You land at Cape Town International, and we drive you along the Atlantic seaboard to the house. When you leave, a helicopter takes you over the Helderberg into the Franschhoek valley, or a Citation XLS+ or Pilatus PC-12 flies you north into Namibia.
