This journey starts in the north-central highlands of Laikipia, swings south to Amboseli and west to the Maasai Mara, and ends on the Indian Ocean. Segera Retreat on the Laikipia Plateau is home for the first three nights: an estate built around contemporary African art, with one night out in a treehouse. Angama Amboseli looks across the Kimana Sanctuary to Kilimanjaro. Angama Mara sits on the Oloololo Escarpment, about 300 metres above the Mara plains. Then Mnemba, a private atoll off Zanzibar, for the last few days. Every move is by air, and none of the flights is long.

1. Day 1–3

   Nairobi → Segera Retreat, Laikipia (3 nights)

   Your Cessna Caravan meets your international arrival in Nairobi and flies you north to Segera. The pilot makes a low pass over the strip to move the zebra and impala off before landing. Two nights in your villa and one in the Nay Palad Bird's Nest, a treehouse sleepout under the Laikipia sky. The team walks you through the art collection, and you drive the conservancy with your own guide. Black rhino were reintroduced here in 2025, so a sighting is possible, though it is early days and we would not promise one.

2. Day 4–6

   Segera → Angama Amboseli (3 nights)

   The Caravan flies south to Amboseli and Angama's newest lodge, opened in 2024 in the Kimana Sanctuary. When the cloud lifts, usually early or late in the day, Kilimanjaro fills the view from your suite. Three nights of drives with your own vehicle and guide across the swamps and plains below the mountain, where the elephant herds come in to feed and drink.

3. Day 7–9

   Amboseli → Angama Mara (3 nights)

   The Caravan flies west to the strip below the Oloololo Escarpment. Angama Mara's tents look out over the plains from high on the ridge. One morning you lift off before dawn in a hot-air balloon for an hour over the Migration herds. Spend an afternoon in the photography studio with Angama's resident photographer, who will help you get more out of the camera you brought. One evening you eat by lantern light in the forest above the Mara.

4. Day 10–12

   Mara → &Beyond Mnemba Island, Zanzibar (3 nights)

   The Caravan takes you to Nairobi to clear out of Kenya, and the Embraer Phenom 300 flies on to Zanzibar. A short boat crossing brings you to Mnemba, off the north-east coast. Three nights to slow right down: diving and snorkelling the reef, long hours on the sand, and a candlelit seafood dinner on the beach.

5. Day 13

   Zanzibar → departure

   The boat and a short drive bring you back to Zanzibar airport, where the Phenom 300 is waiting to take you to Nairobi, Dar es Salaam or Johannesburg for your international flight.
